In 1988 miss Kim Deal, famous as the sexy lady voice of the Pixies, and Tanya Donelly of the Throwing Muses got together to form a band they called the Breeders. Tanya Donelly eventually left the band to form Belly, so Kim invited her troubled twin sister Kelley into the band. Kelley didn't even know how to play a guitar, but that never stopped them from performing and recording some great albums. I clearly recall Kelley messing up really bad during a performance I witnessed and then beaming when she managed to hit one perfect note!

The band was put on hold due to Kelley's drug addiction, which she has overcome by knitting handbags and selling them (here is the link if you don't believe me). Good for her!
